What drew you to Massage therapy?
Growing up in Hawai'i, I was surrounded by the rich cultural heritage of our islands, which emphasizes the importance of balance, harmony, and connection between body, mind, and spirit. Massage therapy resonated with me because it allows me to help others achieve this balance and find peace. I'm drawn to the holistic approach of massage, which aligns with the values of aloha and compassion that are central to Hawaiian culture.
What type of massage do you specialize in?
I specialize in a variety of massage modalities, including Lomi Lomi, Lymphatic Massage, Deep Tissue, and Shiatsu. Each of these styles offers unique benefits, and I enjoy tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of my patients. Whether you're seeking relaxation, pain relief, or improved circulation, I'm committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for your healing journey.
Why would you choose this type of massage?
I chose to specialize in these modalities because they each offer distinct benefits that can be tailored to address specific health concerns. Lomi Lomi massage embodies the spirit of aloha and the values of Hawaiian culture, while Lymphatic Massage can help promote detoxification and immune function. Deep Tissue massage is effective for addressing chronic pain and tension, and Shiatsu massage offers a unique approach to balancing energy and promoting relaxation. I'm passionate about sharing these gifts with others and helping them experience the transformative power of massage.
How do your talents benefit your patients?
As a massage therapist, I'm committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment that allows my patients to relax, unwind, and connect with their own inner wisdom. My approach is centered around empathy, compassion, and understanding, and I'm dedicated to helping each patient feel seen, heard, and valued. Through my various massage modalities, I aim to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, and empower my patients to take an active role in their own well-being.
What is your favorite health tip to give your patients?
One of my favorite health tips is to encourage patients to prioritize self-care and make time for activities that nourish their mind, body, and spirit. In Hawaiian culture, we say "E mālama i kou kino" – take care of your body – and I believe that this mindset is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. I also love sharing the importance of breathwork, mindfulness, and connection with nature.
What is your favorite hobby outside of work?
Outside of work, I'm passionate about exploring the outdoors, hiking, and spending time in nature. I love connecting with the land, sea, and sky, and finding inspiration in the beauty of Hawai'i. I'm also an avid learner and enjoy studying Hawaiian language, culture, and history, as well as exploring other holistic practices like meditation and yoga.
What would you tell a patient that is nervous about getting their first massage?
If you're feeling nervous about your first massage, I want you to know that you're not alone! It's completely normal to feel a little apprehensive, especially if you're trying something new. As your massage therapist, my goal is to create a safe, comfortable space for you to relax and unwind. I'll work with you to understand your needs and boundaries, and ensure that you feel supported and cared for throughout the entire process. Remember, massage is a gift to yourself – it's a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and nurture your body and mind. I'm honored to be a part of your journey towards greater health and well-being.
