What drew you to massage therapy?
I discovered that I had a healing touch from giving massages to my family and friends. Massage therapy was a natural way for me to explore how much my healing hands and energy could be of benefit to others. Plus, who doesn’t love a good massage?
What type of massage do you specialize in?
I specialize in therapeutic, Medical massage as well as “feel good” Swedish and Combination massage infused with Reiki energy.
Why would you choose this type of massage?
These styles are effective for those who would like anything ranging from relaxation from daily stresses to relief from intense aches and pains. We are all made of energy and when our energy is unbalanced or running low, it is inevitable to feel the negative consequences of tension, pain, and disease. In many cases, painful myofascial “knots” form due to poor posture or repetitive movements from work or exercise. The right massage can do wonders to restore the body to a healthier, pain-free state.
How do your talents benefit your patients?
Whether you’re looking for a massage that feels amazing or you have specific areas of tension that need to be released or you would like to be free of pain; I am ready to give you one of the best massages you have ever experienced.
What is your favorite health tip you give your patients?
One of the practices that I have found personally helpful is a mindful breath. Throughout the day, I will take a moment to close my eyes, crack a smile, and take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. I especially like this simple practice because it allows a re-connection with the body and improves our mood instantly.
What is your favorite hobby outside of work?
I enjoy hiking and running trails and marathons. These activities allow me to move my body intentionally with a goal of reaching the top of a mountain and persevering to the finish line. They have also helped me to be more in tune with my own body and have shown me how massage can be essential in maintaining a body that performs optimally.
What would you tell a patient that is nervous about getting their first massage?
New experiences can understandably cause nervousness, however, keep in mind that there are few things that are better than receiving a massage from a well-trained therapist! And rest assured that you are encouraged to communicate any discomfort, whether it’s with the pressure, modesty, temperature, or anything else. Most likely, you will feel very relaxed and so satisfied that you will kick yourself for not coming earlier.
